My new computer
Dad upgraded his laptop and gave me his old netbook and got it all setup for me today. It has Libre Office on it, some tools to blog, and the web. He put parental controls on it which means that I can’t surf to certain sites or at night but my teacher says that is a really good thing. He put Google Chrome on it which actually has Angry Birds so I can play that again. That’s pretty cool as well.
I can’t play Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds or Trackmania Nations on it but Dad is going to set up for me so I can play on the desktop computer with his or Mom’s permission which will be fun.

My birthday
The cool thing about my phone is that it has a Micro SD card which means that I can upload pictures way easier. Dad got me one for Christmas but my Samsung m330 didn't use one. I like my regular camera but Dad and Mom said "sometimes you don't have your camera with you".
When I was out, I txt'd Uncle Lee that I had a LG Rumor2 and he said right back, "I have a LG Rumor3". He wishes. While Dad's Blackberry and Uncle Lee's Android phone are better than mine, I think mine is now as good as Mom's Samsung Link. It's now going to be even easier to text them.
Tonight we are going to Fuddruckers where I get to meet Uncle Lee's new girlfriend. Mom says I have to behave and not bug Uncle Lee in front of her. Gloria will be there as well so maybe she'll bug Uncle Lee.
Thanks everyone!

Checking out the Mendel Art Gallery
Mom took Oliver and I to the Mendel Art Gallery while Dad was gone to Winnipeg. It was fun and I saw a lot of cool stuff. While Dad was gone, be bought me a Chewbacca bobble head figure which guards my room from the Empire and Oliver. Now if I could only get Chewie to clean my room.

My iPod Touch
When Dad got a new iPod Touch for Christmas, he gave me his old one. This week Mom went out and got a new case for her iPod Touch so I got hers. She had a red one but saw a blue one. Since red it my favorite color, I got her case. Of course Dad says it is because I am a Calgary Stampeders fan. As if. I cheer for the Roughriders.
One condition of having it was that I have to keep a Thomas the Tank Engine app on it. Oliver loves Thomas. I think Oliver thinks he is a train in real life. When he gets sent to bed, he even says, “Goin’ to the shed” which is a little odd but funny.

Christmas
My mom already wrote about her Christmas here and my dad wrote about it here.
On Christmas Eve I went to Dad’s work and helped out in the kitchen. Ryan and I made pizza and I helped Job with setting up lunch. Dad also let me have a large double-double coffee from Tim Horton’s.
Later on that day Taylah and I went sledding at the park after her mom and her came over. Once supper was done we opened our presents. In my stocking I got a copy of Thrasher Magazine which dad used to read when he was my age. I also go a iPod lock, a lot of candy candy and body wash.

I can’t believe it but Dad and Mom gave me my own cell phone. It’s a Samsung m330 from Virgin Mobile and it’s a slider phone. Dad sent me some of the names of friends from his address book so I could send some text messages. Not only can I send out text messages but Dad showed me that it has a camera in it and I can send out picture messages. How cool is that? I’m not allowed to bring it to school but I can keep it on me when I am at the baby sitter or out with Mom and Dad. I was really surprised.
Dad set it up so I would have unlimited texting for a month and then he said that he would see how I did with it.
I also got a H0 model train set which is really cool. Mom also got me some extra track which is really cool. I have it set up on the dining room table. I am just nervous that Oliver will grab it but he has been really careful with everything.
Dad also gave me a really cool looking Survivorman t-shirt that says, “You Sweat, You Die” on the back.
I also got two books, one on projects that I can do on weekends and one on Allied Fighters of WWII. My great-grandfather was an air force mechanic in World War II and Dad showed me some of the airplanes that he worked on.
Oliver gave me a cool Tech Deck case and some Tech Decks to put in it that I really like.
Maggi gave me a junior sized Saskatchewan Roughrider football. Too bad that she isn’t allowed to fetch it.
Uncle Lee gave me two Nerf N-Strike guns and a Nerf basketball hoop for my bedroom door. Uncle Lee also gave all of us a Playstation 3. It only does everything. He gave us some Call of Duty: World at War, Force Unleashed II, and Madden 11. The last two games are Dad’s but I can play them.
When we went over to the Reimer’s they gave me some DVD’s of IMAX videos that we already had but they are going to exchange it for some other stuff. Kristi gave me a really nice Calgary Flames watch. I know the Flames are horrible this year but the watch is really nice.
Tonight Bert and Don are coming over. Bert was sick for a while and had to go to Calgary for an operation but he’s back now and I am excited to see them again. Anita and Jim are also coming over which will be a lot of fun.
Thanks everyone for the gifts. I really appreciated them.

Dad’s Christmas Party
We went to Dad’s Christmas Party for the Salvation Army last night at Wanuskewin Heritage Park. It was really cool out there and they had two bison in the front area. They let us walk around and see all of the exhibits. For supper there was chicken and I had some bison as well that was really good. Dad even let me have a coffee.
Every year they give out Christmas presents. Last year I got a electronic piano/keyboard and this year I got Monopoly City which is really cool and Oliver got a Tonka Armoured Car. It lets you put money in it and it has a combination which lets you get your money out. The entire way back from Wanuskewin, Oliver was going “Beep, beep, beep” in the backseat while playing with his truck.
Today is Mom’s birthday party. She is 41 this year. Dad gave her a camera and I gave her a Nintendo DS game. Happy Birthday Mom!

Tim Tebow
Dad and Mom have been getting me some packs of football cards and last night I got this card of Tim Tebow. Dad is a huge Denver Broncos fan and whenever they are on television we watch them. Even though Mom doesn’t know very much about football, she cheers for Denver too. The bad news is that the coach that liked Tim Tebow was fired which means that he might get traded to another team.
Dad thinks it is too soon to tell because Denver is getting a new coach and maybe a new general manager so I will have to wait and see if he becomes a good player in Denver or not.

Hitler’s Stealth Plane
Dad and I watched a documentary called Hitler’s Stealth Plane. It was called the Horten Ho 229
There was going to be a bomber version and it could have dropped an atomic bomb on New York City in 1946 which is really scary. You can read more about it here.

Salvation Army Christmas Dinner
On Thursday, Dad took me down to the Salvation Army Community Christmas Dinner. I was able to help dad and the staff who were down there. I got to serve some food, bug dad, pour some juice for people, and help clean up. The mayor was there and some MP and MLA’s and we served around 700 people Christmas dinner. I was able to meet Pat Lorje who is a city councillor and she was bugging dad. Dad said later that she had spent most of her career working at making Saskatoon a better place to live. That’s pretty cool.
When it was all done, I was able to sit down and have a meal with Captain Rhonda, Lorne, and After the dinner was done, the head chef came into the Front Desk area and said, “Thanks to everyone their help, especially you Mark as you were really helpful; Jordon not so much”. Ryan and the kitchen staff like to bug dad but are really nice to Oliver, mom, and myself and they are good friends with dad. It’s fun to help them out.
Christmas Shopping
Mom wrote that we are all done Christmas shopping as a family. I am happy with the gifts that I got Mom, Dad, Uncle Lee, and Oliver. It was fun doing the Christmas shopping. Dad, Ollie and I also finished the shopping for Mom’s birthday in ten days. I think she will really like her gifts. While the gifts Dad and Ollie got mom are cool, mine is the heaviest gift and Mom can’t figure out what it is.
